(WXYZ) - Music fans will gather on Belle Isle for the "Backpack Music Festival" next weekend. But it's not all about the beats, the event raises money to buy school supplies for kids.
Music lovers, artists and families will enjoy the toe-tapping beats and help out Detroit kids heading back to the classrooms.
Judy Shelton whose helping chair the festival stopped by 7 Action News to talk more about the event and how the kids will benefit from all the gratitude from so many giving Detroiters.
The Festival will held on August 2, 2014 at will start at 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Belle Isle in Detroit. Admission is $20 for Adults and kids are free. Join the fun under sheds 19 and 20 next to the Detroit Yacht Club.
Some of the artists featuring the event are DJ Roach, John Collins, Stacey Hale plus many more! Event Admission is $20 (donation), children, infants are free - 17 years (school age).
If you want to help out, plan to bring along a new back pack, school supplies and books for the kids.
