The Hospital is hoping to encourage early detection and increased awareness of Melanoma, which is the deadliest form of skin cancer, according to Beaumont Hospital.
The majority of Melanoma cases result from environmental factors, such as sun exposure. However, those who are at a higher risk of the condition include people with exposure to ultraviolet light found in tanning lamps, those who have numerous moles, or those with fair skin, freckles or red or blond hair. Those with a family history of skin cancer are also at high risk as well as people with a weak immune system.
