Bonds given National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Michigan chapter's Governors' Award

(WXYZ) - Our own legendary anchorman, Bill Bonds, will be receiving one of our industry's top honors tonight.

The Michigan chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences will be presenting him with the Governors' Award.

The presentation will take place during the 36th annual Michigan Emmy Awards at the Sound Board Theater at Detroit's MotorCity Casino.

The award is in recognition of Bill's 25 year long career here at WXYZ-TV, during which he received multiple Emmy awards.

Bill is a 2010 inductee into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame. He is also a recipient of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Silver Circle Award.

Congratulations on the prestigious honor, Billie!
