"Cheers for Children" event to raise money for kids in need of free healthcare

(WXYZ) - A local children's group is hosting a big event next week.

It's called "Cheers for Children" and it takes place December 14th from 7:30am to Midnight.

The event will be held at the College for Creative Studies, 460 W. Baltimore St. in Detroit.

All proceeds benefit Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation for the Hamtramck School based health center.

Thanks to sponsors and more than 500 guests, last year's event raised more than $100,000 dollars for the Children's Hospital of Michigan's art program.

This year, they hope to surpass last year with help from sponsors like SourceHOV,  Quicken Loans, HOUR Magazine, and many more (see below).

This year's event is Detroit themed, featuring local food & beverage sponsors, and entertainment

WXYZ's Vic Faust did an amazing job last year and will once again serve as our emcee

Entertainment by the acclaimed Selected of God choir featured in the Chrysler "Eminem" Super Bowl commercial, Tom Butwin and DJ CapN'20.

Guests will be treated to food from amazing local favorite restaurants such as Gemmayze, Crave and Ginopolis to name just a few, as well as beverages thanks to Brown-Forman and Frankenmuth Brewery.
