Therese Comor is not your typical middle school teacher. She has a hobby that has put her in the national spotlight.
She likes to do standup comedy!
She showed off her skills on ABC's The View February 26 th. Her routine received huge applause from the crowd and drew rave reviews from the celebrity judges.
Sherri Shepherd said because Comor was so sweet, she could do edgy comedy.
Joy Behard described her routine as a "killer set."
"I was shocked," explained Comor. "And I was so happy because there were so many people I knew that were rooting for me. And if I blew it, I would never live it down. So it was like either bring the fire or go home."
Comor is competing in the "Hilarious Teachers" competition. It's part of The View's "Year of the Viewer" segment.
"I'd been working on [the set] a good three or four years," said Comor when she appeared live on 7 Action News This Morning the next day.
Comor is a teacher at Kosciuszko Middle School in the Hamtramck Public School District.
"Shout out to the Kosciuszko Cougars!" she cheered. "I tried to say that yesterday, but I think it got drowned out by the crowd."

"My kids don't have school today, so we're going to have a test tomorrow," she joked.
The View will announce the winner Monday, March 4 th.
We're rooting for you, Therese!
