(WXYZ) - Christmas is just around the corner. If you're looking for a new tradition to start with your family, we have a few ideas!
"The Elf on the Shelf": By now, you've probably heard of " The Elf on the Shelf ." The story says that each night your elf goes back to the North Pole to report if the children were naughty or nice. When the kids wake in the morning, they have to track down where their elf is. Parents are really getting into this tradition. They are now sharing funny photos of where their elf showed up on Facebook and Instagram!
"The Magical Tale of Santa Dust" : A new book we discovered-- " The Magical Tale of Santa Dust " is the story of two children whose house Santa has never been able to find! The book comes with a pouch of glittery magic Santa dust that you spread around your home on Christmas Eve to help Santa find his way.
"The Christmas Pickle" : A tradition you may not have heard of is the Christmas Pickle! You hide a small pickle ornament somewhere on your tree, and on Christmas morning, the first child to find it gets a small gift left behind by St. Nick. Another neat fact about this one-- Berrien Springs, Michigan is actually the "Christmas Pickle Capital of the World" and holds a yearly pickle festival in early December!
