(WXYZ) - Justin Rose, a Michigan native, joined the 7 Sports Team in September of 2014 as a Sports Reporter/Anchor.
The St. Clair native is thrilled to be back in his home state to cover the teams that drew him into sports broadcasting in the first place.
Justin started out doing play-by-play for St. Clair Local Cable in 2001 and never looked back. After graduating from Michigan State University in 2007, he spent time at WBOY in West Virginia, WLNS in Lansing and WTAE in Pittsburgh before getting the call to return home.
“Coming back home was an easy decision,” Justin said. “I knew from growing up in this sports town that the passion for the games isn’t just inside the locker rooms. It bleeds from the sports fans in the area, and that is something you cannot find in every city.”
Justin loves to dive into the sports he covers, but storytelling is where his true passion lies.
“Being able to meet people in the community and share their stories on how sports have enriched their lives is one of the best parts about the business. We’ve all been athletes at one point in our lives or another, and each has special memories that will last a lifetime. Those are the stories that are the best to share,” Rose said.
Rose shares an Associated Press “Best Sportscast Award” with his WTAE Pittsburgh colleagues, and is a member of the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association.
Justin resides in Royal Oak and enjoys golfing, spending time with family and friends, working out and spoiling his niece Olivia. You can contact Justin with story ideas by emailing him email@example.com and can follow Justin throughout his travels with the many sports teams on Twitter @JRoseWXYZ
