DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) - The table draped in black cloth in the middle room subtly captured attention.
It was hard for everyone connected to the Developing K.I.D.S. organization to stay focused on the evening that had been in the works for so many months, before one of its main members was found dead in her car in a field near the Packard Plant.
As Tiane Brown's murder investigation continues, the show still had to go on for the children Developing K.I.D.S. supports.
The annual fundraiser was held in the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American history.
7 Action News Anchor Glenda Lewis emceed the program for a 2nd year in a row.
The organization works to strengthen every aspect of a child's life in order to help bring forth healthy, educated, capable leaders of tomorrow. The program is now run out of the Don Bosco Community Hall.
