Mary Conway is always on assignment. Around Metro Detroit, and sometimes around the world, Mary works hard to bring the news to Channel 7 viewers.
This veteran reporter tackles international issues from a Detroit perspective. In the process, Mary often gives a voice to people who might otherwise go unheard.
Throughout her expansive career, Mary has covered major figures ranging from Nelson Mandela, to every President since Gerald Ford. She reported from Austin, Texas during the 2000 election, and later traveled to Florida to cover the recount.
Mary Conway had the opportunity to cover Cardinal Adam Maida's elevation in Rome. The assignment made for one of her greatest memories at Channel 7. "It was remarkable," Conway says, "reporting on the Cardinal and the Pope."
Mary graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been honored with numerous awards for her outstanding career in television. She earned a national Gracie Award in 1997 for her report on Itsumi Koga, the Farmington Hills woman from Japan accused of drowning her baby.
She has also won two Emmy's and anchored for two Emmy award-winning newscasts.
Mary Conway has worked hard throughout her career to be a voice for the people of Detroit. "I have always tried to be fair and objective," Mary says of her reporting.
