Macomb County Charter

The Macomb County Charter Commission has taken an historic step forward. The 26-members completed their work writing a constitution that brings bold and needed changes to the county’s current form of government.

Since we don't have a copy to read I assume we will be getting the short end of the stick. A tip off is the fact mentioned that they eliminated the portion that prohibited commissioners from changing retirement benefits. They will still be able to take care of themselves and their government kronies. On the surface this looks like it should be voted down when the chance comes.

Macomb residents really need to take a long, hard look at the consequences of this (historic) change. Are Oakland and Wayne counties really under better forms of governance?
