Michigan Made

Last Update: 10/14/2009 3:50 pm
Delivered by Bob Sliva, Vice President & General Manager

Picture this: Kid Rock zipping up a Made in Detroit racing jacket; actress Kristen Bell biting into a Michigan McIntosh apple; or a baker pulling a cherry pie out of the oven up in Traverse City. Fortunately, you don't have to look far to see these Pure Michigan images.

Recently, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Governor's office teamed up with the McCann Erickson ad agency. Together, they produced some very creative TV and radio public service announcements promoting Michigan-made products. The goal is to expand the very successful Pure Michigan marketing campaign beyond travel and tourism. The catch phrase in these spots is, "When it's made in Michigan, it's not only good for our state, it's good for you and your family."

It's a great line and message. Promoting and supporting quality Michigan-made products begins right here at home. From potato chips to cars, we can lead by example when we market our best to the world. Let's make Michigan-made products our buying habit.
