The Detroit Regional Chamber, in collaboration with WXYZ-TV Channel 7, the Detroit News and the DTE Energy Foundation, wants to help you prepare your child for the tough economic environment in the years ahead.
A high-quality education is key to the successful future of your child. We want you to have a voice in your community, including access to every resource to help your child thrive in the future.
Our economy is rapidly changing and good paying jobs, that once required little or no education, are a thing of the past. But hope is not lost -- there are many new careers emerging, many of which we could have never imagined. While these jobs may be rewarding and well paying, they do require a higher level of education. In order to compete with the global workforce, all students should have access to the type of education that will help them excel in whatever career path they choose.
Join us in spreading the word about the importance of a quality education, and find out what you can do to help in your community!
The Education Town Hall meeting was created to showcase unique and effective resources to help students succeed in the 21st century job market. A panel of local experts leads the discussion. Members of the community, including parents, students, community activists and business leaders were invited to participate in the discussion.
DVD copies of the town hall meeting will be made available to parents and students.
