Please contact an agent before deciding on a plan. Golden Rule (United Health One) is accepted at most doctors and hospitals in the Detroit metro area w/ the exception being U of M and St. Joseph's where it is still taken but at an out of network percentage. Furthermore HAPPYMAN's post regarding the deductibles being $10K is completely incorrect. You can select your deductible ($250, $500, $1000) and then after the deductible is met the plan covers 80% of the next $10,000 then covers 100%. So if you had a $250 deductible plus 20% of $10K that means you max out of pocket is $2250. Remember health insurance is there to protect your financial security in case of a health crisis. Short term plans typically will insure you to a max of a million dollars. Not bad for 6 months of coverage.

Agreed with happyman- the deductible is insane, and nobody around here will take it!! Also, if you have any existing problems no matter how small, that company will turn you down anyway. Last year, I was turned down because I have eczema.

I have checked into this. Not many hospitals or health care professionals accept this in Detroit and surrounding suburbs. Also, both posicies have a $10,000 deductible before ANY covered benefits kick in. What kind of "affordable coverage " is that?
