(WXYZ) - Looking for a few ways to make going to college more affordable?
First, you can sign up for an income based repayment plan. This plan requires borrowers to pay back a certain percentage every month after graduation, based on their income.
Starting July 1, you can consolidate your loans at very low rates. Most can be refinanced for around 2.5 percent.
You can also sign up for a tuition payment plan. This lets you pay your yearly tuition in monthly payments.
