McCain Concedes White House Race
(WXYZ) Senator John McCain has conceded the 2008 race for the White House to Barack Obama.

A disappointed crowd listened closely to Sen. John McCain as he gave his concession speech in Phoenix, Arizona.

McCain pledged to work with the President Elect as he tries to move the country forward. He expressed his admiration for Barack Obama's ability to inspire millions of Americans.

During his speech, McCain thanked his supporters. He told them "we fought as hard as we could... the failure is mine, not yours." McCain also told the crowd: "I don't know what more we could have done to win this election."

Sen. McCain also thanked his running mate Governor Sarah Palin for her hard work on the campaign.
