I would agree with DKMMM. Why is it being ignored that Obama is 50% white. His mother Ann Dunham was born in Kansas and was part Cherokee, English and Irish. Although his Mother didn't see color having married a black man from Kenya and an Indonesian man from Indonesia, I feel it a disrespect to her heritage that it's being totally ignored. Everyone, especially the media has turned this in to a racial thing. As well, Barack Obama's parents divorced when he was not quite three years old and only saw his father once after that when he was 10 years old. I wish the media would put all the accurate information out there.

Let's remember, OBAMA IS 50% WHITE. Thirty or so years ago he would've been rejected based on this fact. Correct the headlines: we have the first BI-RACIAL President. He's neither black nor white, HE'S BOTH.

dw you've turned very mean. You used to make sense, now you're just insulting.

His speech said nothing original. EVERY election year we've had CHANGE of one kind or another. Obama did not say WHAT KIND of change he would lead. Sounds like change from capitalism and incentive to do better, it'll be change to socialism and let the govt take care of me. AND to have Oprah support him?! (She thinks she's the messiah! She's the anti-Christ. She's leading people down a bad path.) Obama's an eloquent speaker and that's all anybody hears. His charisma lacks substance. The emperor has no clothes. ohyea, they can redistribute their wealth to me immediately, my house payment is due and I'm tired of working hard to pay for it. Will they be the FIRST to redistribute? That's what I thought......

BorninUSA if all that concerns you is whether President Elect Obama's speech was geared towards the "African-Americans. Or that his speech had vague and confusing overtones. You were not hearing or listening to a man who just achieved something truly remarkable. And God knows we have heard a bunch of unfulfilled campaign promises in the past. But I'm only guessing that it's alright to accept them from men who are white ?? Last night should have showed you one thing and one thing only. That if we do plan to move forward as a Nation we need to do it as ONE. Not racially separated, but joined as Americans. To equally share in the knowledge that ANY type of America divided will NEVER prosper. And to REALLY put back the meaning of "America the Beautiful" for ALL Americans to believe in and aspire to be. But then again anyone is more than welcome to down play the true significance of what happened. And truth be told, had McCain and Palin had won the historical significance would have been equally as great. Simply by the virtue of Ms. Palin being the first woman to be Vice President. Again hindsight will always be 20/20. But I am absolutely positive that the election process leading up to the nominees for 2012 are going to be very interesting to say the least. At least we know there will certainly be a pretty good blue print of what NOT to do.

I see the fiery determination from Obama. It did my heart good to hear him speak. But I am concerned about something, was his victory speech angled at a victory for african-americans or was it angled at a victory for the democrats ? I ask this as his speech had certain vague and confusing overtones. All I can say is "Mr. President-elect, I am not african-american and I voted for you as I saw something unique in you. Please don't let my trust be mis-laid, or ANYONES in this country, for that matter. I am counting on you and Gods blessings to you"
