I expect people to claim personal responsibility for their own sins... and to make moral decisions based on fact, guided by educated policy-making given the appropriate century. I expect respectful dialogue... that means... since you folks require everything to be spelled out: sans name calling and generalizations. I give you that some Catholics give off a "holy 'tude".. real or perceived. So do people of other faiths you don't fully understand... again.. why only attack Catholics on a message board? A fundamental tenant of Judeo-Christian religion is the idea of sin... that's why we have a Day of Atonement and Confession. We're human... even you haters.. I think.. are human!

Saundersmom--The catholic church has unleashed this hate! They("the church")have stopped the advancement of science for thousands of years,so this is what they get!Yes I also I am a hater of that "church" they mask themselves in this holier than holy act when they are the evil of society!Where we as a society now we should have been in the 1400's if it was'nt for the comtrol of that "church".At one time the pope had said the sun goes around the earth, and he refused to belive otherwise anyone that thought different were condemmed to hell!Ok so now we have a society fed up with the church and their control, what do you expect?

Wow... some of you have a lot of baggage to bring to an embryonic stem cell debate. Haters, stone-casters, people who live in glass houses... you won. News flash: Prop 2 passed. Stop being angry. IMO ...It's bad policy. Also, Let those people in the Catholic Church heal from the sins of their leadership.... why do you continue to persecute them? Nellybell.. you are advocating that millions of people leave the Catholic Church... that's been around for 2000 years.. because of someone else's perverted sin? Worse.. you suggest that Catholics -in general- are hellbound for the sins of priests YEARS and YEARS ago. Now really folks, if you don't believe in God, believe in karma! Back to the issue: Yes the Catholic Church was against PROP 2... NO SECRET there! So were many others who did a little homework on this hastily-drawn policy regarding research on what so many regard as precious.

NOW DO PEOPLE SEE, WHO WAS BEHIND THE FIGHT TO STOP THIS. THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, SHOULDNT THEY BE WORRYING ABOUT MORE ABOUT WHAT THEY DO ? I SERIOUS QUESTION A FAITH WHOSE LEADERS PROTECTED THE PREVERTED PREIST, INSTEAD THE CHILDREN THEY MOLESTED. THEY NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THEY DO, THEY HAVE ALOT TO ANSWER TO GOD FOR THEY DONT KILL EMBROYS JUST THE SPRITES OF THE CHILDREN THEY FAILED TO PROTECT. THOU SHALL NOT LIE THAT ON THE TEN COMMANDMENTS THEY FORGOT THAT ONE TOO.

I'll let you have the final poetic word here. Everyone... you heard DW Washburn: Words to live by: Down with religion! (note: sarcasm) That MUST be the answer to this debate.

religious ' folks' as you'd call them saunders ...are the true evil of our times...... religion lies its very a ss off....religion covets pedophiles.....you worship one or more...... religious leaders (and i use the term leader loosely) are the only reason this issue became an issue....Truth and logic is something the religious right are very afraid of...so they lie to their flock...lie to everyone....we saw that play out in this cause ....religion has no place in public ...only in private lives

For all the people who can't get the picture of Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory out of their minds, wake up from your dream. Technology has come a long way since then. If you could save a loved one, and it was within your power to do so I'm sure ANYONE would "if they had the power". And if your loved one has the remotest possibility of having the ability of living a productive life I am sure NO ONE no matter who it is would pass up that outside chance. Well, here is that chance. Naysayers have been around since the very first ideas were conceived, so I'm not surprised at the opposition. But again some people are NATURALLY afraid of CHANGE, and PROGRESS. If they don't understand it, it should NOT happen. Again WAKE UP !!!!!!!!!!!

If they could do human cloning....do you guys really want a chance for .... 2---> BabyHueys ??????

LOL! If you knew me... you wouldn't find a religious zealot, but rather a critically-thinking adult. Why in the world does everything have to be about the "church." And why do I have to keep my comments to myself? Hello.. there's an ammendment that deals with free speech too! And... why are you so angry? You won. IMO though, you chose inadequate law... that takes us down a very dangerous path. I get that you don't care about that. Oh yea.. Stop attacking religious folks.. it's pathetic and just bad karma.

D W Washburn - 11/5/2008 6:05 PM
This deals with HUMAN EMBRYO donation with limited restriction on their destruction.. I applaud Stephen Clark for getting it RIGHT last night. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX its dogma pure and simple....if you religious zealots dont want yours used no problem...but keep your bible thumping ideas and tactics to yourself......the religious right are just plain hypocrites
