(WXYZ) Citing two aides close to Senator Hillary Clinton, the New York Times is reporting that she will accept the job of Secretary of State. The decision will make Clinton the nation's top diplomat, charged with restoring the country's international image in the wake of the Bush presidency.
The Times says Clinton decided to accept the offer after holding a second conversation with President Elect Obama about what the nature of their working relationship would be, if she did accept the job. One of the aides says Mrs. Clinton's first conversation with the President Elect was just too general to make her comfortable with the situation, and that's why the second conversation was held.
Neither Hillary Clinton's or Barack Obama's offices would comment on the report. The President Elect's office says no announcement will be made until after the Thanksgiving holiday.
