(WXYZ.com Election Command Center) – Voting is heavy across Michigan, just as election watchers predicted. WXYZ.com’s Election Command center is monitoring polling places across the state, surveying voters as they leave the polls.
In previous years our field researchers have completed their first round of surveys by
10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. This year some were done with the first round by 8:00 a.m. WXYZ.com polling director Tim Kiska has been using this “Key Precinct Indicators” model to analyze elections since 1974 and says, “This is the heaviest turnout that I have seen."
Kiska’s team monitors 78 different precincts across the state, 34 of those in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties.
Stay with WXYZ.com as we will release early data from the model throughout this election day.
