An Award-Winning Day for Ford

Last Update: 1/15 9:45 am
DETROIT (WXYZ) - Ford Motor workers have two new reasons to smile.

IN THE VIDEO PLAYER ON THE RIGHT, MARY CONWAY SAYS AUTOWEEK HAS BESTOWED TOP HONORS AT THE DETROIT AUTO SHOW ON THE ALL-NEW TAURUS AND THE RE-DESIGNED SHELBY COBRA MUSTANG

Autoweek editors have bestowed Most Significant honors to the 2010 Ford Taurus, a car Blue Oval fans have been waiting for since the Ford Five Hundred arrived as an ill-fated replacement for the original Taurus.

The new version gets improved sheetmetal capped by an edgier grille. Initially, power comes from a 3.5-liter V6 making 262 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque--but expect an EcoBoost model with 350 horses in the future.

And for pure driving enjoyment--the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 won the Most Fun award. The huge engine, the smooth looks, the blessing of icon Carroll Shelby--it’s an alluring package.
