LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The official leading the White House effort to help cities and towns that depend on the auto industry is heading back to Michigan next week.

Ed Montgomery is director of the Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers office. He is scheduled to visit Grand Rapids on May 7 followed by trips to Flint and Warren on May 8.

Montgomery will travel with representatives from government agencies to meet with workers, local officials and community leaders in the communities affected by the auto industry's ongoing struggles.

More details about his trip are expected within the next few days.

The White House announced the trip Friday.
