The GM Century Cruise kicks off one hundred years of classic cars and trucks on parade in an event that ends one era and begins a brand new one.
One hundred GM cars kicked off a parade to salute the company's past, present and future.
The parade started on Woodward in Downtown Detroit and will end in Birmingham led by GM's CEO Rick Wagoner.

It's a historic drive and an exciting way for GM to celebrate its upcoming 100th anniversary. You can get involved in the big event by voting right now for GM's top cruiser.
Here's how it works: Each cruiser will be assigned a number, which can be found on:
http://dreamcruise.gmnext.com Fans can vote for their favorite car by texting GM and the assigned number to 466398 (GMnext). For example, to vote for car number one, text GM1 to 466398. Voters can vote for their favorite car as often as they like.
You only have until 6pm on August 16th to text your vote. The winner will be announced Saturday on Channel 7 at 7pm.
