One Man's Special View of the Cruise

Last Update: 8/16/2009 11:06 am

(WXYZ) - This week we brought you the story of Joe Gall, the Florida man who desperately wanted to see the Dream Cruise because he's losing his sight. On Dream Cruise day, Joe has one of the best seats in the house.

Joe Gall and his family have spent the better part of the week in metro Detroit, cruising Woodward and making lots of new friends. He and his wife Tammy brought their son Jeffrey to experience the sights and sounds. That's important, because Joe learned last year that he is rapidly losing his sight.

Car club friends from Florida and from where they used to live in New York surprised Joe with the trip. They raised the money and gave him the opportunity of a lifetime to take his 1968 Meanbird to the Motor City.

The Gall family can't help but think about the people that made this possible, especially since the day they left for Detroit they found out their house is in foreclosure. Tammy gall says there are people they don't even know who made their trip happen, and they are very thankful for the opportunity to attend.

Car people are obviously very loving people.
