Hi my name is sydney hawkinks I was at city council on 6-23-09 to talk to city council about my grandma house to help save it and they would not see me I am only 11 years old I did not know that I was suppose to fill out a paper so they would not see me . Well any my point was that my grandma had a house fire it was a total lost after all the city codes she ran out the mayor talking about cleaning up the city I was trying to get help so people in the city would try to rebuilt if they new there was help mayor Bing can pick up all the trash in the city but if you have burn up homes that people left or company are taking care of or vancant lots that people left because they were under insurance the burn up homes that are left and all the vancant lots is still a problem and a sore eye for people to look at in the city my grandma trying to stay in the city but the mayor nor city council wanted to listen to me I see there is all kind of help if you have a house but why not help someone who lives in this house like as long as my grandma to help with a grant so there will not be all these empty house he can clean it up but if you can't fix it up what the use he also needs to clean up the crime in the city if you can't clean up the little ones how can he clean up the major problem.I might be 11 years old but I see it everyday that I go out the house the trash all over in people yards people walking down the street drinking beer smoking drugs and the police driving by and not doing nothing. We don't even see a police car drive down are street if people seen the police drive down the street they would think twice before they did anything thank you sydney hawkins

Good for MAYOR KEN C. A man the city can finally be proud of. A man with integrity, honesty and loyalty to the City and its people. The City doesn't need a sports person as mayor, they need a MAN WITH EXPERIENCE TO GETS THE JOB DONE! You go Ken!..................

Detroiters should clean up their neighborhoods, homes, yards, etc. Why do you think no one wants to live in Detroit? Wake Up!

With so many unemployed construction workers and commercial equipment laying around not in use, it seems it would make good sense for the city of Detroit to try to contract for demolition while there are resources readily available. It would employ workers and get better bids from the companies that are willing to work.
