johandyman, you should stand up and be proud that you have made an honest living most of your life and have found a way even in these dark hours to keep going, even though it's tough. I have worked since I was 12, am 58 now and have been trimmed down to 1 job now and alot fewer hours. I too may lose my house and find it hard to put food on the table, but I'm glad I have never not worked and decided to sit home and collect on the government like so many around me. If most would get up and try to work there would be enough for the ones who really need it, not the ones sitting around swigging on their 40 ouncers and the ones having their hair and nails did. My prayers go out to you and your family who truly deserve more.. I get so disgusted when I'm in the stores, using change to pay for my meager groceries and women with big hair dos and nails as long as spikes are paying with stamps and bridge cards. I couldn't use my debit card for 10 dollars of gas at a station on michigan ave. but was told if I had a bridge card they would take that. Makes ya mad when you watch so many take advantage of the system, but the government makes it so easy for them.

I am a 49 year old single father I have worked 34 years of my life and paid my taxes. I have paid on my house for 20 years and now unemployed.and there's a good chance I will lose my house I take what money I can make and pay for food for my children. I have looked everywhere for work no luck yet, after three months. I am self employed as a handyman so I get no unemployment no money coming in now. for the first time in my life I don't know what to do. you don't see the government helping any of us out. I will take any job right now keep my home. what the hell is wrong with our country?

I am disabled and on a special diet as I am a diabetic. I receive $602 monthly social security disabilty. My rent is $625 plus electric and gas. I receive $174 monthly in food stamps. I frequent as many food closets as I can but usually cannot eat most of what they have to offer as it is high in carbs and sugar. My son helps me with the difference in the rent and utilities. I worked all my life and owned 2 business'. This is what we have to look forward to....homelessness and possibly starvation. Something is so wrong with this picture, on every level imaginable. I live in Toledo because I could no longer afford Michigans rent. It doesnt matter where you live as the food stamp program is the same in Michigan as it is in Ohio. The cost of living has gone up but not our benefits. Wrong on so many levels the situation just leaves me....scared to death.

Lets Quit sending Billions of Aid Over seas.. Feed our own before we Feed the World. Fix Us here before we worry about There. Yes Ministries and Churches seem to know whats best for us and not the people we put in charge of our well being. lame.
