The messages were included in a prosecution motion. The document is about 644 pages long, and contains about 200 texts messages.

Lawyers for Christine Beatty had fought to keep the texts sealed, saying they could be detrimental to her defense in her upcoming criminal trial.  However, the judge ruled that all text messages that are not covered by privilege should be released.

A love affair played out on a pager, from graphic sex to talk of love and marriage. There are a lot of legal motions all exposed for people to read in what seems to show intense feelings that played out on hundreds of pages of text.

The texts show an affair that started in 2002, and played out over a year.

Mayor Kilpatrick texts in June 2003:

“Thank you for letting me make you feel good. It gives me soooooo much pleasure to see, feel and experience you!”

Christine Beatty texts back: “That is officially unconditional love! thank you for loving me like that.”

The texts are sexually graphic at times between the two, and then very romantic.

Mayor Kilpatrick:

"Thank you for tonight. that was great QT (quality time)... my best friend my soulmate.”

Christine Beatty texts back: “You said everything I wanted to say… ditto and love you.”

The texts show Kilpatrick and Beatty set up several rendezvous, often talking about where they could meet. They also often reminded each other to erase these graphic messages.

Mayor Kilpatrick:
“Erase and throw away msgs, Ms. get caught!

Christine Beatty texts back:
“However, I like to sometimes re-read my messages from you. They make me smile and I can feel you when I do.”

The two texted marriage talk in July 2003:

Christine Beatty:
“When can we set the date? I’m ready by December.”

Mayor Kilpatrick texts back:
“I will figure out when and how we can spend the rest of our lives together.”

The relationship seems to cool off and by spring of 2004 Christine questions why she’s not with the mayor.

Beatty: "What do you get from CEK (carlita kilpatrick) that you don’t get from me?"

Mayor Kilpatrick: "The tremendous bond of parenthood. JJ & J’s mama. the birth experiences and the dreams for our children."

Beatty: "Is that it?"

Mayor Kilpatrick: That’s it. I was thinking real hard. It's all the family thing. Structure and comfort."
