Yes this is a good day for public access and media but bad for the reputation of Detroit. The people of Detroit wants to put this away and move on the our own media insist on stabbing us in the side, fighting to further embarrass us in the national media. Thank you free press, I will no longer support you while you tear down our city. To me that is just as bad a Kilpatrick....

oldsoul80 The problem is the judicial system is so corrupt maybe it time to change things up and take it back to the public. The public can't put him on trail but it's the only real way for us to get to the truth and yes, we do deserve to at least have that satisfaction

dkodar What I was referring to is that the Manoogian Mansion was donated to the city of Detroit for the mayor of Detroit to live in. When the Manoogian family did this, years ago, I am sure that they hoped there would be a respectable mayor living in it. In no way did I call kk respectable, DESPICTABLE is the only word I have for him besides felon, liar AND cheat. I'm sure there will only be more negative names to add to this list when the text messages are revealed.

They had their right to a fair trial. Both "his dis-honor" the former mayer and Ms Beatty chose to plead to lesser charges. Their attorneys and both defendants felt that they would not have fared well under the circumstances. They surely felt that these text messages would have ment their dimise. That's why they tried to have them disqualified via the appeal process, up to the state supreme court. By the cities own "policy statement" all forms of "electronic communication devices" use by city employees, were subject to the same standards and rules. You can't discharge someone for violation of these rules without setting a president for future violations. It is not for the convieniance of some, but for all, without any exemptions listed. Lying while under oath is "perjury". Now, not the issue! "Conspiracy" to murder, to brieb, to embezzle, to cover up evidence, to profit from one's public office in an illegal way, still is a very real issue. If these messages can and do lead to more charges against the same or others involved in these type of crimes, then by all means let justice be served! The sooner the better!

dkodar - 2:01 PM that's my point exactly it's not up to THE PUBLIC. It's is up to law enforcement, law arbitration, and a jury. No where in the consitution does it mention being tried in a court of public opinion.

Let the texts keep embarrasing CB and KK, so what? that's a small price to pay.

CB would knock a buzzard off a s.hit-wagon.
