(WXYZ) - President Obama hasn't even signed it into law yet, but already scam artists are trying to cash in on the Cash for Clunkers Plan.
Ultimately the plan will provide vouchers for drivers who replace gas guzzlers with new, more fuel-efficient vehicles.
But now the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is warning against bogus websites popping up asking consumers to register by providing personal information, including names, addresses and social security numbers.
But NHTSA says consumers don't need to register for the program! These sites are just fishing for personal information.
