(WXYZ) - The first wave of H1N1 vaccinations is underway in Wayne County and Oakland County, but not everyone can start lining up to get the vaccine just yet. First responders and targeted groups of people are the first in line.
The Wayne County and Oakland County Health Departments began administering the vaccine Friday to medical workers, EMS and Emergency Management Services workers.
Select groups of people can also now get the H1N1 vaccine in Wayne County and Oakland County if they fit into the priority category.
On the priority list for vaccination are pregnant women, people who live with or care for babies under six months of age, anyone ages six months to 24 years old and people 25 to 64 who have underlying medical conditions or weakened immune systems.
It is advised to call ahead and make an appointment for vaccination at the health departments.
