(WXYZ) - A new poll by EPIC-MRA reveals that most Michigan residents do not plan on getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine.
In the survey, people were asked about their plans to get get a seasonal flu shot and H1N1 vaccine. Parents were also asked if they planned on having their children vaccinated.
When residents were asked if they planned to get a seasonal flu shot, 57 percent said they would. Forty-three percent said they would not.
When asked about getting the H1N1 flu shot, there was a surprising response. An overwhelming 70 percent of people surveyed said they would not get the H1N1 flu shot. Just 30 percent said they would get the vaccine.
Sixty-one percent said they had no plans to get their children the H1N1 flu shot, while just 39 percent said they would get their kids the shot.
Six hundred Michigan voters were surveyed between October 11th through the 15th. The EPIC-MRA poll has a plus or minus four percent margin of error.
