if we are leasing for a dollar, lets keep that bldg. and spend money to upgrade what is neededand put some skilled trades back to work, stright time only, no O.t. thank you very much, we all could do more if we all take a little less!

Wow. I'm amazed at all the people out there that don't believe in honoring a contract. Just wait for the headlines of USA Today: Now 101 Reasons NOT to do Business with the State of Michigan. As if our state doesn't have enough problems, we add an even bigger one. Why would anyone risk doing business here if the state doesn't want to honor it's contracts? This will send shock waves through every business that has a contract with the State of Michigan and severely impact Michigan's credit rating, which has already suffered enough. Talk about systemic risk. We'll being next in line for bankruptcy with California if this happens.

There's no doubt a new building with updated infrastructure is needed for MSP.......but, why build a new building when it's at the expense of what MSP & police in general really are? That is,the guys and gals that show up at your door when your child is missing, there is a prowler outside, or someone has stolen your identity. They pick up the pieces and plug holes at a crash scene, track the gang banger that just robbed the local gas station or party store, and run toward shots fired, not away. There are two types of police work, pro-active and re-active. By cutting troops or other police, response time increases, service decreases, and pro-active police work goes out the window! So, if you just want someone to come and take a report, great! Lay 'em off! If you want some pro-active (preventative policing), BREAK THE DAMN DEAL AND GET IT OVER WITH! For 3 or 3.7, or 4 million/year the mileage restrictions currently on MSP might even be lifted.

we have some usless idiots in lansing not all but some, start with Jennifer Granholm. I voted for her what an idiot I was. she is out of control and she came down on kk when she had too now someone needs to shorten her leash. she is out of control. I say layoff the goverment in lansing and keep our officers on the job.

Boy oh boy, in the increasingly lawless times we surely need all the police we can get, including the State Troopers. Granholm needs to go back to Canada and instead of laying off the sorely needed state troopers we should layoff some of the uneducated lazy idiots who work in the Secretary of State offices or in the packed to hilt government offices in Lansing

WHILE I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. WHAT ABOUT ALL OF THE OTHER STATE EMPLOYEES THAT HAVE BEEN LAID OFF. IN BJJ. THESE YOUTH ARE NOW ON THE STREET TO DO WHAT THEY WERE DOING BEFORE THE GOT PICKED UP. THESE WERE ALSO EMPLOYEES THAT HAVE WORKED FOR THE STATE FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE BEEN GOOD EMPLOYEES THAT SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO RETIRE. I NOTICE THAT A SENATOR HAVE WRITTEN A BILL FOR JUST ADRIAN TRAINING SCHOOL TO RETIRE DO THE THE DOWNSIZING OF STATE GOVENMENT. THEY ALSO CLOSED ALL OF THE AGENCY'S IN WAYNE COUNTY AND PUT YOUTH ON THE STREET THAT NEED HELP. WE NEED TO LOOK AT HOW ALL OF OUR MONEY HAVE BEEN USED. NOW LET'S NOT FORGET THE LAST PERSON THAT HELT THAT OFFICE. HE IS JUST AS MUCH AT FAULT ASS THE LAY THAT HOLDS THE JOB NOW. I DO NOT SEE ANY ON OF YOU TALKING ABOUT WHAT HE DID WITH OUR MONEY. LET'S HANGG ALL OF THEM OUT TO DRY WITH THE WRONG THAT THEY HAVE DID . HOW MUCH MONEY DID HE GET FROM US AND HOW WELL IS HE LIVING AT THIS TIME. LETS SEE IF WE CAN GET SOME OF THE MONEY BACK FROM SOME OF HIS DIRTY DEAL.

Who are the 15 state senators who voted in favor of the lease? They need to be identified and booted out of office. Obviously, they are either on the take, stupid, and/or have no common sense. At any rate, let’s turn this State around by cleaning house of these people. They are suppose to be representing all state residents, not a few political backers looking for favoritism.

Here's the response I received from Senator Martha G. Scott when I asked her to vote against the new Headquarters: "Thank you for sharing your concerns with me. This building is already under construction and is expected to be finished by the end of the summer. While it is true that the current MSP headquarters is leased for $1 a year, that building is in need of serious repairs and does not meet the needs of the State Police. The new building will centralize a number of operations and result in cost savings." Sincerely yours, Martha G. Scott State Senator 2nd District

Notice how Michigans economy is getting smaller but the size of Michigan Government is not. These State politicians are nothing less than crooks!
