(WXYZ) - You've got the chance to follow the yellow brick road on a trip to see the wonderful "Wizard of Oz" tonight in a special one night only viewing of the classic motion picture on the big screen.
The event, which is sponsored by NCM Fathom, Warner Home Video and Turner Classic Movies, is part of the 70th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz." It's also the first ever High Definition presentation of the movie.
440 theaters across the nation will show the movie Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. It will also feature a special introduction by Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne and "To Oz! The Making of a Classic." The documentary shows how L. Frank Baum's novel was transformed into the movie, and includes archival interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and rare musical outtakes.
