(WXYZ) - Drew Barrymore's homage to roller derby, "Whip It," which was filmed in Michigan, will be shown in several area theaters this weekend in advance of its official Oct. 2 debut.
Barrymore is the director and star of the movie, which also features Ellen Page, Kristen Wiig and Juliette Lewis.
"Whip It" will show at 7 p.m. Saturday at MJR Theatres Marketplace Cinema in Sterling Heights, Southgate's MJR Theatres, Southgate Cinema 20 and the AMC Livonia 20. It will also show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at National Amusements Showcase Cinemas Ann Arbor and at 7:45 at Emagine Novi.
