(WXYZ) - The hit TV show "Monster Garage" is reopening for business, this time in Detroit.
The show, which ran for five seasons, will begin filming new episodes in late May. Filming for the show, which is being produced by Burbank, California based Original Productions, could take six months. The show is expected to air in the fall on the Discovery Channel, the show's previous home.
Fans of the show should expect one major change. The original host, Jesse James, will not be returning. James, who is currently appearing on "The Celebrity Apprentice" is launching a new series on SpikeTV next month. However the shows premise, transforming cars in strange and unusual ways, will not change.
The project hadn't yet applied for Michigan's tax incentives for film making. Producers say the paperwork will be submitted soon.
Anyone who wants to participate needs to fill out an online application on
the Original Productions website. A casting call is also being held May 16th and 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Arrangements have been made for some of the cars produced on the show's new episodes to appear at local events.
