Faygo Root Beer Named Best in Nation

Last Update: 8/27/2009 10:54 am
(WXYZ) - Bon Appetit magazine has honored Faygo by naming the company's Old Fashioned Root Beer as the best old-fashioned root beer in the nation.

The magazine says Faygo's root beer is "dry and crisp, with a frothy head, a good bite and a long finish." Bon Appetit calls old-fashioned root beers like Faygo's the newest drink trend. Old-fashioned root beers are caffeine-free and usually sweetened with cane sugar, not corn syrup.

Faygo's Old Fashioned Root Beer beat out Fitz's Premium Root Beer, Jackson Hole Soda Co. Buckin' Root Beer, Olde Rhode Island Molasses Root Beer, Sioux City Root Beer and Zuberfizz Creamy Root Beer to win the title.
