(WXYZ) - British Stroller manufacturer Maclaren is recalling more than one million strollers because of a problem with a hinge that could lead to the amputation of a child's finger.
The recall involves all Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers. Models affected by the recall include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.
The strollers were sold at Babies “R”Us, Target and other retailers nationwide from 1999 through November 2009.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is telling parents to stop using the strollers immediately and contact Maclaren for a repair kit. The impacted hinge is on the side of the stroller, and children could come into contact with it either while getting into the stroller, or while just sitting in it.
