Speaking as someone who has been personally involved with Hilary Duff's charity work for years, I can uneqivocally affirm that Hilary's compassion and love has no limits. The suggestion that racism has any connection with Hilary Duff is absolutely ridiculous. Hilary loves everyone. She deserves honor and respect in return.

Hilary did not pick the school based on race. She's all about love. She gave over $250,000 + more later to feed everyone in New Orleans in 2005. And, go check out the picture of her at the school in Toronto this same week at Contact High School in the Toronto School District (http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/toronto/archive/2009/03/06/hilary-duff-spreads-the-love-and-the-snacks-in-toronto.aspx)

Amen Lolalou! People need to get motivated and make an effort if they want to see things change (or programs offered). I guess it is just easier for them to complain about the program not being offered in their community then to do something about it. If you want help, you need to start by HELPING YOURSELVES!

She came to Auburn Hills because someone in the community cared enough to get sponsorship for the program and facilitate it. If you want it in your community you can do the work to get the food donated, store the food and distribute it. The purpose of her visit was to bring publicity to the charity which she is the spokesperson for. The community of Auburn Hills, the Avondale School District, and the North Woodward Community Foundation keep this program running every day. So take action in YOUR community if you would like to see kids get food for the weekend.

Hey CanadianKid: Do you think Detroit only has hungry kids? Call your City Council Pres. Monica see if she can help ya? LOL

I did not know they were so poor in Auburn Hills? Try Macomb County!

Should I ask why she didn't come to my town Troy? This is why we are in the state we are in across the Detroit Region. We just can't get along. Everything is about race. If you would have read the article you would have seen why she cose that school. There was a reason she came to that school district.

I think the fact that she came to Michigan at all is amazing! This is what the famous younger singers/actresses should be doing instead of partying and parading around in next to nothing with their pocket pets adorned with diamonds. There was no big publicity stunt for this visit. Hillary Duff is a VERY GOOD role model for the younger girls and as a parent I have always liked her family movies and tv series. Good for her to choose a cause that brought her here to Michigan! She doesnt have to go to Detroit to prove she cares.. how ridiculous to even bring that up!
