DETROIT (WXYZ) - More than 500 women are expected to don their favorite jewels and finest chapeaus and gather at the Casino on Belle Isle for the Belle Isle Conservancy's 8 th annual Polish the Jewel Belle Isle Legacy Luncheon The event will take place Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m

Beginning with a reception from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., patrons will enjoy appetizers and special drinks while they mingle and network. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction items; new and vintage jewelry, dining and event packages are among this year’s selections. Renowned Grosse Pointe artist, Jane McFeely has again generously donated an original painting depicting children playing on the beaches of Belle Isle Park, used as the cover art of the event’s invitation, for a live auction to be held at the end of the luncheon program.  

WXYZ anchor Carolyn Clifford will serve as this year’s emcee and Cynthia Hempstead will serve as  the Event Chair.  General admission tickets to the Luncheon are $125, with benefactor tickets ranging from $250 - $1,000. The Belle Isle Conservancy is also hosting a benefit to raise money to restore the flagstone paths at the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory Garden. It's called Pathways to the Garden and it'll take place Tuesday, September 11, from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Conservatory. You can make your reservation by calling (313) 824-1200.
