(WXYZ) - Target is recalling about 610,000 Halloween flashlights and mini-flashlights because they can overheat and melt, posing a burn hazard.
The recall applies to flashlights that were sold exclusively at Target. They were sold from August 2009 through September 2009 for either $1 or $2.50.
The mini-flashlights have a key ring extending from the bottom. They were sold in orange, green and black in sets of three. The orange and purple packaging has "Mini Flashlight (3 Pack)" printed on the front and "DGI", "Made in China" and "DPCI#234-02-1813" printed on the back.
The standard size flashlights have a black handle and orange top. The were sold with six stencils with various colors and images, including a pumpkin, ghost, spider, cat, witch and skull & cross-bones. "Flashlight with Stencil" is printed on the front and "Tien Hsing," "Made in China" and "234 02 1838" is printed on the back.
Consumers should stop using the flashlights immediately and return them to Target for a full refund.
