As journalists we are supposed to remain detached and above the story, reporting what we see and hear dispassionatly without putting our own views into what we cover.
But for stories like the September 11th attacks, keeping our distance from what we cover is impossible.
For some Action News reporters, the 9/11 attacks hit particularly hard. Some like Val Clark and Bill Proctor had deep ties to either New York or Washington DC. Others, like Tom Wait, were living near the scenes of the attacks and can remember the sights and sounds they experienced first hand like it was yesterday.
