DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Old Shillelagh Tavern opens doors at 7:00 am to welcome St. Patty's day revelers. The tavern is located in Greektown in Downtown Detroit. Holiday fun on tap includes food, live music and lots of beer.
But it's far from the only watering hole that opened early for St. Patrick's day revelers. Bars all across the area are welcoming patrons today.
The Old Shillelagh Tavern is located at 349 Monroe St. You can get more information by calling (313) 964-0007 or visit the website at http://www.oldshillelagh.com/ .
If you are taking part in the St. Patrick's Day festivities, police are reminding you to be responsible about it and use a designated driver.
This St. Patrick's Day falls right in the middle of a drunk driving crackdown that is affecting all of the counties in the Metro area. Officers will be putting on extra patrols through early April.
