(WXYZ) - The anti-bullying effort will get a huge boost this weekend, just as Detroit area kids are preparing to head back to school.
The Defeat the Label anti-bullying campaign will be holding a free concert featuring pop star Cody Simpson to highlight their efforts to stamp out bullying.
Defeat the Label calls on its members to work towards ending bullying by completing a "mission" a week. Members then post a recap of what they did and the results on the Defeat the Label website .
Other users then "like" what they feel are the most compelling recaps, with the highest number of "likes" winning Deafest the Label gear from the online store.
In order to highlight their efforts in the Detroit area, Defeat the Label and Cody Simpson are holding a free concert at The Somerset Collection. The event is co-sponsored by radio station Channel 955. The concert is Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Anyone interested in attending can begin lining up at 10:00 a.m. The doors to the mall will open at noon.
Defeat the Label says they will be making a major event during the concert, alongside Ken Kragen. Kragen is the creator and organizer of both Hands Across America and We Are The World.
