(WXYZ) - Car lovers and enthusiasts from across the United States and Canada are gathering along Woodward to pick out a good viewing spot for Saturday's highly anticipated Woodward Dream Cruise.

The Dream Cruise is the largest one-day automotive event in the world and draws more than one million visitors to Woodward Avenue each year.

If you're not one for big crowds, or simply don't want to fight the traffic, you're in luck. You can watch all the "must see" cruise action from the best seat in your house: your couch.

WXYZ-TV will broadcast exclusive coverage of the "Woodward Dream Cruise presented by Chevrolet" on Saturday, August 18 th from 7-9 p.m.  You'll be able to watch live on Channel 7 on television and on WXYZ.com as well as on our mobile apps!

The program will be hosted by 7 Action News anchors Stephen Clark, Carolyn Clifford and Diana Lewis, with live reports from Mary Conway, Dave Rexroth, JoAnne Purtan, Alicia Smith, Vic Faust and Brad Galli.

Channel 7 will provide bumper-to-bumper coverage of all the action from Ferndale to Pontiac, with live reports from a hot new spot on Woodward, the Vinsetta Garage in Berkley.

During the show, WXYZ will also celebrate the career of legendary anchor and Dream Cruise supporter Diana Lewis. Lewis will retire from the station in the fall after more than three decades on the Channel 7 anchor desk.

WXYZ viewers can get in on the fun by sending photos of their favorite ride to Channel 7’s Chevy car garage on wxyz.com. They can also share their stories and cruising memories with WXYZ’s social media community through facebook and twitter. New this year, viewers will be able to participate in a live cruising social media tweet-up along Woodward Avenue during the broadcast.

“We are so pleased to once again showcase the amazing automotive history of Metro Detroit,” said WXYZ Vice-President and General Manager Ed Fernandez. “It’s our privilege to join our partners in the communities along Woodward Avenue to celebrate Detroit’s legendary love affair with the cars that shaped our culture.”
