Last-minute costume ideas for kids

(WXYZ) - If your kids still don't have a costume for Halloween, you can help them make their own from items found around the house.

They can make a cute, giraffe costume with aluminum foil and masking tape. Use the aluminum foil for the horns, then use white masking tape to create patterns on a brown sweat suit.

Rapunzel is another easy costume to make, but you'll need a lot of yarn. Let the yarn drape loosely around the head. Braid the long ponytail and tie the end with a ribbon. Finish the look with a cute hat.

You can also make a simple Viking costume. Use a baseball hat and some cardboard to turn it into a viking cap. You'll also need some faux fur and tape to make the vest.
