(WXYZ) - Award-winning author Mitch Albom joined us in-studio to talk about some of the big projects he’s been working on.

For starters, Albom’s looking for volunteers to help with the “100 Houses Project”.

This Saturday, hundreds of volunteers will gather at 8 a.m. in a lot across the street from Turning Point Academy, located at 12300 Linnhurst. They’ll be working to board up abandoned homes in an effort to make the area a safer place.

For more information on the project, check out Albom’s site.

He’s also made his directorial debut on a web series called “Leslie”. The first part of the short film aired Monday, but you can catch the second part tomorrow on the WIGS YouTube Channel. The film stars well-known actress Catherine O’Hara.

Albom also talked to us about his new book, “The Time Keeper” that’ll be coming out in the next few months.
