(WXYZ) - Have you registered for Motor City Tap Fest yet? This celebration of clicking toes and digging heels features three days of master tap classes with leading artists in the industry, a meet-the-faculty luncheon, a tap jam, participants' showcase and the “Masters of Tap” faculty show. New and exciting themed classes have been added this year, in addition to a 'Triple Threat' class to hone your skills as an all-around performer. Whatever your level is, from beginner to professional, there is a class for you.
The Motor City Tap Fest is excited to continue its scholarship program again this year. Partial and full scholarships are available for aspiring dancers, teachers, working professionals, and all-around tap enthusiasts who want to attend Motor City Tap Fest but could use some financial assistance.
The fifth annual Motor City Tap Fest is taking place in Detroit Aug. 16-18, with “Masters of Tap”, featuring the esteemed faculty of leading tap artists performing to live accompaniment by world-class musicians at Orchestral Hall in Detroit Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25-$35 per person. Orchestra Hall is located at 3711 Woodward Avenue Detroit, MI 48201. The event brings in some of the top tap dancers from around the country, including Gregg Russell, Sarah Reich, Avi Miller & Ofer Ben, Dr. Harold “Stumpy’ Cromer, Robert Reed, Karen Callaway Williams, Bril Barrett, Denise Caston, Starinah Dixon, Claudia Rahardjanoto and more.
