Pioneeering account executive retires after 35 years

After 35 years, account executive Linda Brown will retire from WXYZ. Linda graduated from Michigan State University in 1970. She was one of a select few women graduating from State with an advertising degree.

After graduation she worked at several advertising agencies in metro Detroit until 1974 when she joined WKBD TV as the first female Account Executive in the Detroit market. Two years later Linda joined WXYZ ABC.

Linda is married to Wayne they have two children, Matt (daughter in-law Tiffani) and Jenn. Linda will spend her leisure time traveling, reading, gardening and planning Daughter Jenn’s 2012 wedding.

Linda says her 35 years at WXYZ TV have been fabulous and she'll miss the daily contact with all of the friends she's made through the years.
