If you are a nonprofit organization that deserves recognition for its contribution to the community, you might just be our next Champion in Action. All you have to do is apply!
Channel 7 and Charter One are looking for organizations that have demonstrated a history of strong fiscal responsibility and leadership and an ability to show how they will make effective use of the support and resources being awarded.
Each Champion in Action receives:
- A contribution of $25,000 in unrestricted funds from the Charter One Foundation
- Media coverage from WXYZ-TV 7, including public service announcements and television profiles
- Volunteer support from Charter One and WXYZ-TV 7
- Public relations support
- Promotional support through advertising in Charter One branches, charterone.com, and WXYZ.com
To be recognized as a Champion in Action, an organization must:
- Be an Michigan-based nonprofit organization that services Michigan and addresses the designated social concern for the quarter (see chart)
- Provide verification of tax-exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code
- Have a total operating budget of $5 million or less.
