Royal Oak, MI - The Rainbow Connection 's 11th annual "Walk for Kids" will take place Saturday, August 24 at the Detroit Zoo.
The event is one of the largest fundraisers for Rainbow Connection, which makes wishes come true for Michigan children with life threatening illnesses.
The Zoo walk is one of six held across the state this summer. Last year over 3,500 participants took part to support the children and families of Rainbow Connection.
Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, the founder of Rainbow Connection, will be on hand again this year. He misses last year's walk while recovering from serious injuries he received as a result of a terrible car accident.
7 Action News anchor Dave LewAllen, a Rainbow Connection Board member, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the walk.
