NOVI, Mich. (WXYZ) - The Michigan State Fair is back this Labor Day weekend! The fair will return to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi for the second straight year.
The nation's original state fair continues to incorporate all of the great traditions and legacy of the historic fair, but now with a 21st century twist.
The Michigan State Fair was created back in 1849, but it was canceled in 2009 due to a lack of funding. After years of hosting the fair in either Lansing or Detroit, it moved to Novi for the first time in 2012.
The state fair showcases the famous agriculture, tourism and products of Michigan. It also incorporates the annual Detroit Shrine Circus into the schedule.
The fair will be held this year on Labor Day Weekend
